CENTRAL KALIMANTAN
Palangkaraya is the capital city of Central Kalimantan. This province is famous by Tanjung Puting National Park, the first place of Orangutan rehabilitation center in Indonesia. There are three station Tanjung Harapan, Pondok Tanggui, and Camp Leakey which is covered 415.000 Ha area.
On these Orangutan tours we use a private traditional wooden boat with your own boatman, cook and naturalist guide to explore the area. For accommodation, we would sleep in comfortable Rimba Lodge or in the boat surrounded only by the magical jungle sounds, depend of the package. In some package it is include an opportunity to stay in Dayak village to know their traditional life.
The entrance point of Tanjung Puting National Park is Pangkalanbun, and it can be reach by plane through Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan), Pontianak (West Kalimantan), Jakarta, Semarang (Central Java) and Bali via Surabaya (East Java). |
